Ok, let's get the basics out of the way:

 

• My name is pia, from the Latin, pious.  Um, err....I may not live up to that meaning.

• I'm a cute, fat chick, originally from D.C., but now living in Los Angeles.

• I'm half Black and half Sicilian.  I know...I got really lucky.  

​

• I'm married to my best friend, who keeps me laughing and supports my dreams, both big and small.

• I'm also a writer, activist, model, food lover, improviser and a feminist with big hips and real, old fashioned, cellulite.  

​

• I love drinking mai-tai's while catching up on episodes of Dexter.  

​

• I've traveled to every continent except for Antarctica.  And I'm gonna pass on that one.  

 

• The countries to visit on my bucketlist at the moment are: Peru, Cuba, Vietnam and Morocco.

What I believe:

 

• Women are the true leaders and healers of this world.  Be one of them.

​

• I think the fat acceptance/ size acceptance movement is amazing, and I love being part of this grassroots effort to change the narrow definitions of beauty and worth that our society has so craftily used against women.

• I want to see all forms of media make bigger strides toward being inclusive of people of all sizes (especially women), ethnicities, ages and abilities and representing them in positive ways.

• I wish to inspire you and lead you to action.  You do not have to accept less than what you deserve.

• Your body is a good body.  Love every dimple, every roll, every muscle.
